Welcome to the new year!
You may have had a bit too much to drink last night. You know you ate way too many slices of pumpkin pie over the last month. You want a change, and here's your chance to a fresh start.
Let's detoxify!
Detoxification is basically the cleansing of the blood. Your body naturally does this through the liver, kidneys, intestines, skin, lymph and lungs. You need to give your body a boost. Help it out.
Before I start, I want to state that I AM NOT a physician. Just a fashion blogger that wants to stay in shape. I caution against detoxifying if you're preggo, nursing, have some sort of condition that Ben-Gay can't help, or if you're a kid. You must be *this* tall to ride this ride. Okay? Okay.
*Most of the info I share is stuff I've learned over the years from trying to get myself on point
First thing first
WATER!
That's right, you have to drink plenty of water.
At least 2 quarts a day. More if you exercise. Which you WILL be doing.
Fiber
Foods such as brown rice, beets, cabbage, broccoli, radish and artichoke contain quite a bit of fiber. Fiber causes your body to...uh...well...poo-loo.
Herbs and Vitamins
Vitamins C and B promote detoxification. Very liver-friendly.
Dandelion Root: Diuretic and liver detoxifier

Burdock: Diuretic and blood purifier

Milk Thistle: Very liver-friendly

Green Tea: Everyone knows the wonders of green tea.

Herbal Colon Cleanse
At first, I wasn't going to mention anything about colon cleansers because I see so many people get caught up in colon cleansers so they can lose quick weight. I personally take this product ever so often. Not because I wanted to shed a few pounds, but (TMI moment coming) due to the fact I have poo-loo issues because I had drank window cleaner as an infant. Everybody else got Frosted Flakes as a kid. I had Total. But I digress.
Colon cleansers are good because they get out all that crud you have backed up in your system. The product I use is Health Plus Super Colon Cleanse. I get it at GNC for about $12 bucks. Get the tablets. The powder is, as my friend puts it, HAG! The Super will make you GO. So I suggest taking them on a Friday evening when you know you're going to be in the comfort of your home. You won't leak or anything, but when it comes, you have to go, pronto. No standing in the line waiting. If you like, you can get it in the regular strength (Red Label). I personally feel like you can't tell the difference with that one, so I stick to the ones with the green label.

*Just so you know: GNC is NOT paying me. They NEED to pay me. I have shoes to buy!
Hydrotherapy and Sweat
Take a very hot shower. As hot as you can stand it. Do this for about 5 mins. Then turn on the cold water for 30 LONG seconds. Repeat this a couple of times. Ideally, do this at night, so when you get out of the shower, you can rest your nerves and relax.

If you want to sweat it out, you can always engage in yoga or hit the sauna. Or you can just jump rope at home. That always makes me break out in a sweat.
During the detoxification process you'll need to eliminate coffee (I feel that I have lost some of you already), cigarettes, refined sugars, alcohol, and saturated fats. These are all toxins and kinda contradicts all the hard work you're putting in.
