Get Some Lip Action!

No matter the time of the year, I'm always giving my lips full attention. No matter if I'm getting glammed up, or if I'm just sitting at home, my lips come first...and they get attention all day long. With the cooler months here, we have to take extra steps to make sure our lips don't dry out.

Anyone who knows me, knows I invest in lip products. It may possibly be an obsession. As I type this, I was think, "WHY? Why do I obsess over my lips being moist?". Middle school!

A friend and I use to take our little money every weekend and go take pictures at those cheesy photo studios at the mall. You know, the ones where you pay $20 bucks and you get a crap load of wallet sized pics? Yeah, cheesy. Anyways, her and I went to a different mall than we normally went to, and they basically rushed us to the point where we didn't check our hair or anything. This was before digital photos, so we had to wait 30 mins to even see our pictures. Well, when the time came the pictures looked great....except for my lips. THEY WERE CHAPPED!!!!!! They didn't feel chapped, per se, but pics don't lie. I was mortified. And this was the one time this friend and I took the pictures together. So she was all jazzed, and I was pissed. Luckily, we went to different schools, so her set of friends who saw this chappery didn't know who I was. I threw my half of the pictures away.

That was then. This is now. No more chapped lips...ever!

I noticed a lot of gals walking about this town not putting anything, it seems, on their lips. You see peeling and cracking...horrible! I basically pulled some products that I use on my own lips that work great alone, or with other lip color.

Disclaimer: No beauty company has paid me nor has given me any free products to talk about. It would be nice if they did, but whatev.

Rosebud is THE BEST! I LOVE IT! The pot is kinda pricey, but it lasts for a good minute. Smooth, and lightweight. The only drawback is that your fingers have to go in it.
You can get some at Sephora.

This is what sits on my desk here at home. I'm looking at a tube right now. It's not the hottest in smell, or flavor for that matter, but it is good for long lasting moisture. It does pretty well under lipstick too.
Drug store buy.

This is what's in my personal makeup bag. There's one in my purse somewhere too. This is REALLY good for moisture. It smells and taste better than Carmex. It's also not as greasy. This has been a lifesaver so many times over. It's a pot, so the finger factor is there.
Drug store buy.

I have one of these in my purse, and one oddly on the stand where my TV sits. I guess lip balm to me is like a baby's pacifier; you place one all over the house! I like this because if I have on a lip gloss or lipstick and want to get it ALL off, I put on a layer of Burt's Bees and wipe that off. Lips are free of any color of tiny glitter flecks.
Target always has a vast variety of Burt's Bees products.
This is also in my personal makeup bag. The Ultra Mentha Lip Shine #1122 is suppose to be clear. I believe that the menthol in it actually makes my lips turn pinkish. So, it's more like a tint to it rather than a plain gloss. Keep in mind that it's very tacky. I mean thicker than M.A.C Lipglass. And the thicker the formula, the higher the chance of lip crack.

Lip crack is when you get that white residue on the inner line of your lips. It's really gross, and a pet peeve of mine.
You can get this at Bath & Body Works. They have other flavors as well.
